Why Pay More?

Why pay more by booking direct?

It is a common misconception that independent travel agencies are “cashing in” when booking accommodation.
We are here to explain exactly what the process is when booking a holiday and how you could be paying more by booking direct!

The Truth

Clients who book through an independent agent do not pay more than if they booked direct with a hotel or resort. In fact it has been shown in many cases that they will actually pay less. In many cases the travel agent will give the client their commission as a further discount to become more competitive. Booking direct through a hotel may offer similar prices but will not often advertise hidden taxes, in turn boosting the rate up quite significantly. Rates advertised with an agent will always specify or include foreign taxes and charges.

The Advantages Booking With An Agent

There are many advantages booking with an agent which are often overlooked. The chosen agent of choice will offer a bonding scheme to give you extra peace of mind. This is at no extra cost to the client either. We do also urge our clients to book using a credit card to give them that extra security if they are doubtful for whatever reason.
Many resorts will not offer any type of bonding at all.  This may be something to think about, if you chose to go direct.

Choosing An Agent

Particularly in the gay sector booking accommodation can be difficult. The common issue that many gay independent travel agencies face with their clients is the price for gay exclusive accommodation. A common misconception by the public is that the agent will add a high mark up to their rates as this type of accommodation is limited and in high demand. This is not that case! The agent will continue to work on a commission basis with the hotel or resort, as with gay friendly accommodation.
We are not saying that booking with an independent agency that it guarantees you exceptional service and low prices, nor does booking with a non independent agency. You do however get that extra bit of guidance and advice from people who are experienced within the industry, who are here to help and make your holiday experience and good one.
